10 Creative Ways To Show Someone You Love Them
Are you looking for a fun and creative way to show someone you love them? If a friend has a rough day or you are looking for a way to make your significant other feel extra special, think about how you can serve them. As Christians, we are called to serve one another, but there are many reasons why it’s a blessing for you and for the other person. Doing something unexpected shows the other person you care about them and it takes your focus off of your needs.
Here are 10 creative ways to show someone you love them.
10. Give a Loved One Flowers and a Card
Pick some flowers and make a homemade card. Find some wildflowers or pick some from your garden and use scrapbooking paper to create a card. You don’t need a lot of supplies to create it from the heart. Paint a picture or the wording, add a Bible verse and include a kind message of how you feel about the person.
9. Take Care of an Errand
Run an errand for them to save time. If you know your friend or significant other is busy and struggling to find time, take care of buying groceries or taking the dog to the vet. Relieve them by taking care of it for them!
8. Send a Loved One Bible Verses
Send them an encouraging Bible verse and why it’s meaningful. When a friend or significant other is feeling down or getting ready for a big test or the next step in their career, it’s important to remind them of who they are in Christ and build them up.
7. Care About How a Friend is Doing
Ask them how they are really doing. People hear “How are you doing?” many times through the day, but few askers actually want to hear the truth. Show you are genuinely interested in listening by looking them in the eyes and setting down anything you are carrying.
6. Give Your Friend a Treat
Surprise them with coffee and a muffin! Work can be stressful, but an unexpected treat can brighten your friend’s day and give them the confidence and energy to get through their day.
5. Taking a Shopping Trip
Go shopping with them and take them out for lunch. This one is more for a friend or girlfriend! Take them to pick out a new outfit or new shoes and then treat them for lunch. Taking a small break from school, jobs, families and other types of stressors is refreshing and revitalizing.
4. Make a Heart Shaped Breakfast
Make breakfast for your significant other into the shape of hearts. This may seem childish and silly, but your love will come through with the effort and thought. Shape the eggs as hearts, paint jam hearts on toast, spell “I Love U” with chopped up strawberries. You will cherish the memories.
3. Make a Collage of Meaningful Images
Create a photo collage and add transparent words that describe your relationship or friendship. This would make a meaningful anniversary or birthday gift. Collect photos from when you grew up to show what your friendship means. Combine photos from your first date, relationship milestones and include fun shots to reminisce.
2. Create a Mix CD
Make a CD of mixed songs. Decide on a theme, such as cheering up a friend or meaningful love songs about your relationship with your significant other. Design a case either with pictures, quotes and other meaningful things.
1. Plan a Movie Night with Your Spouse or a Friend
Pick up their favorite snacks and movies. For your best friend, choose movies you watched growing up or choose a fun theme, like beach movies. As a surprise date night in for your significant spouse, pick up their favorite ice cream and rent movies they like or find them on Netflix Instant.
Finding creative ways to show someone you love them doesn’t have to be complicated! Life can become hectic and we all need reminders of how much we are loved. If a friend is feeling down or going through a stressful time, show them the love and care they deserve. A relationship with a significant other, such as a marriage, takes work and the more you try to show how much you love one another, the better. As you focus on bringing love to others you will develop a deeper appreciation of what others do for you. Building relationships based on service, love and appreciation will become long lasting. There are many people who never experience this type love and it’s so easy to do once you begin focus on serving others.
